The Institute achieves its objectives through a multi-faceted approach
The FES Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing the development, dissemination, and education of neurostimulation and neuromodulation research. The Institute supports the education, awareness, and community programs of the Cleveland FES Center, a consortium of leading academic and clinical investigators, helping translate decades of research into care that improves the lives of people with disabilities.

The Institute furthers academic research and education goals while simultaneously advancing clinical care.
This is accomplished by effectively translating knowledge and technologies developed within the consortium directly into clinical practice and the broader healthcare delivery system.

Community Engagement
The FES Institute is committed to sharing relevant research findings with the community of individuals with disabilities, their caregivers, and families.
The Institute’s efforts are integral to ensuring that neurostimulation and neuromodulation technologies are successfully integrated as a standard clinical tool to meet the needs of end-users and caregivers.
